I think one of Old Town's best kept secrets is its parking garages - they are actually very cheap, and not frequently used! It costs a mere $2.00 to park all day long on weekends in the lots under both City Hall and the Courthouse. Anyone driving into Old Town on a Saturday or Sunday to do shopping and dining should take advantage, since it's much cheaper than feeding meters AND saves loads of time on driving around looking for street parking!

Any side street past Washington is a good bet since they aren't metered.
You can park in the strand parking lot before 5:30 if you visit Mystique Jewelers before heading out to dinner and there be no charge for the evening. The Strand parking lot is located on the waterfront in old town on Union Street ( between Duke and Prince Street).
